Pokemon Card Price Gainers: 10 of 15 Were Bounces

Published . Every population and price figure below re-renders from our own data on each rebuild, so they stay current. Pop data last pulled 2026-10-01.

A dated price trace for the 30th Celebration Classic Collection Gengar (Prime) on a dark field, falling from September 29 to a trough on October 7, then crossing a hatched band marked six days not recorded as a dashed chord up to a single hollow October 14 reading, with the card itself at the left

"Our price snapshots skipped September 25 through September 28 entirely". Card Talk ran that line on October 5 of 2026, and we re-pulled the whole board on October 14. No call reached its review date this week, so nothing below is graded. The gainers board this week measures from a single trough date rather than from a week of strength.

No call reached its review date, so none is graded

Nine calls are open, and the nearest of them is due tomorrow. Grading Call 2 today would be theatre, so it gets an interim read like the other eight. Three of the nine fall due inside the next seven days, so next week carries three verdicts against the single call graded so far.

Call 2 asks the 30th Celebration Ultra-Premium Collection [Day] to mark below $599.04 on October 15. It marks $561.55 today, a fourth consecutive reading under the line. That is $37.49 of room, and the product is still flagged presale with a November 6 ship date, so every mark in the series is a preorder mark.

Pokemon card price gainers, and the date all of them measure from

Our board screened 2,571 rows this week and passed 903 of them. Of those, 145 rose against 755 that fell, which puts 16.1% of the board green. Its published top fifteen is green all the way down. The board underneath that list is red, and the distance between the headline and the breadth is this week's finding.

The window runs from October 7 to October 14, which is a true seven days. It holds no interior readings, because our snapshots recorded nothing from October 8 to October 13. Every seven day move on the board is therefore a chord drawn between two dates with no path underneath it.

Ten of the fifteen gainers base from their own lowest mark of the eight readings taken between September 29 and October 7. Twelve of the fifteen fell across that earlier leg, six are still down over the fortnight, and the base date is the one most of them reached at their weakest. The board of screened daily price moves carries all fifteen with their dated series attached.

Gengar (Prime) from the 30th Celebration Classic Collection is the clearest of them. It marked $78.83 on September 29, fell on every reading after that to $51.72 on October 7, and marks $58.96 today. That is a rise of 14.0% on the week against a fall of 25.2% over the fortnight.

The one screen test the gap actually broke

Three of our four screen tests read only the endpoints of the window or the latest reading, so a missing interior cannot reach them. The fourth asks whether the last three recorded dates carry identical prices, and it throws out anything that has not moved at all. Its input is the last three dates rather than the last three days.

That test rejected 151 rows on the October 7 board and zero rows on the October 14 board. The three dates it reads this week span eight days rather than two, so a listing frozen for a fortnight no longer looks frozen to it. The Shrouded Fable Booster Bundle Case marked $1,149.95 on all 47 readings from August 8 to October 7 and $1,298.21 today.

That was the first suspect we checked. The honest correction is that its collapse explains very little. Only 14 of the 151 rows that test caught last week reached this week's board, and 5 of those rose against 8 that fell. The gap changed what the instrument could see, and it did not manufacture the green.

Where the nine open calls stand

Call 3 asks for fewer than 30% of the Mega Evolution era rows to be up on the week, and 16.7% are. That is 36 of 216 rows, against 109 up out of 687 elsewhere, or 15.9%. The piece that first counted that era against the rest of the board set the line on an 18.5% reading against 42.2%, and the era now sits above the board for the first time.

Call 4 asks the ten mini tins to average below $52.00 on October 26, and they average $25.63 today with all ten marked. Call 6 asks the 30th Celebration Booster Bundle to mark below $100.00 on October 19, and it reads $74.97. Both products shipped on October 2, and the column that measured what shipping did to fourteen preorder listings settled each of them in practice.

Call 7 asks the sealed half of the board for a median absolute weekly move below 2.00% on October 27. That figure reads 1.3% today on 128 sealed rows, against the 2.65% recorded on October 5. The earlier reading covered 11 days and this one covers 7, so part of the improvement belongs to the window rather than to the market.

Call 5 belongs to another column and is not due until November 25. Its census row still carries an update date of October 1, so the trailing monthly gem rate reads 65% on 540 grades and has not moved since. Call 8 asks the 151 Booster Bundle to stay under $185.57 on November 30, and it marks $168.41 today.

Call 9 is the one running against us. It asks the two 30th Celebration Battle Decks to average below $45.00 on November 16, and they average $55.49 today. That is $10.49 above the line, after a 4.4% easing since the call.

Call 10, and the median that would make it wrong

Every Market Read leaves one dated call behind it. Call 10, made on October 14 of 2026, is that this week's fifteen gainers post a median fall of more than 10.0% by November 18. All fifteen product rows are written into our calls ledger, so the re-pull reads the same set.

The record gives this one no comfort either way. Six windows of 34 to 37 days can be measured across our snapshots since August 8, and a top fifteen gainers board fell by a median deeper than 10.0% on three of those six. The other three fell too, and the shallowest of them gave back only 2.2% by its close.

A median at or above a 10.0% fall on November 18 makes the call wrong, and this column will print it wrong. If fewer than 12 of the 15 rows carry a mark that day, it is unverifiable. The page setting out how a seven day move is screened here carries the limits on every figure above. None of this is advice about what anyone should buy or sell.

Nothing here is financial advice. Graded cards are speculative and illiquid, projections are labelled as projections, and this column grades its own past calls in public.
